The video above is a recording from my December 8th live sound healing at The Bridge Healing Arts Center in Farmington, CT. This event takes place bi-weekly on every other Thursday at 6:00pm EST. The audio as been edited. Noise was reduced, and light reverb has been added. This time I incorporated the energy of sunstone, and took the audience on a brief beginning guided meditation using the sunstone energy to connect with their souls spirits, and inner most aspect that is their unique part of source consciousness within, their sunspark. The meditation is difficult to make out, but the sound journey that follows is very clear. I went on to do an angelic blessings and shamanic clearing that is primarily focusing on the third eye for clarity, as well as the kidneys to release fear of the unknown and an uncertain future. Sound as Healing

Physiological Effects of Sound

Sound produces many effects on the mind and body. Some of which can be capitalized for healing. An important one for this discussion is Entrainment. Entrainment is when a stronger rhythmic pulse such as a constant musical beat at a specific rate, causes other pulsating bodies to match its pace. If you listen to calming music with a tempo of 60 bpm (beats per minute) your heart-rate will slow to 60 bpm as well. As will your breathing rate. Entrainment works no matter what the tempo, or rhythm. It has been shown that Heavy Metal music with certain rhythmic accents actually disrupt the heart-beat and can cause a-fib, or other cardiac problems. Sound is to be taken seriously because it is very powerful, yet somehow still underrated. (more…)

Understanding Sound

If you want to get the full benefits of experiencing sound healing as a meditation practice, therapy, or are interested in knowing how to perform sound healing, it is important to know the basics of the medium, sound. The body has a tendency to be more responsive when the mind is informed of what is going on. Once you become aware of something, the body often accepts and integrates the new information more easily and efficiently.
