Holistic healing sessions are eligible for reimbursement with a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), or a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA).

What Services Qualify as a “Holistic Healing?”

Holistic healers are practitioners of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) that falls outside of mainstream medicine. They are often used in tandem with allopathic care for “integrative medicine” approach. Holistic medicine encompasses a wide range of treatments and therapies that work together to balance the mind, body, spirit, and emotions.

Holistic healers employ a wide range of treatments; however, the most common are energy-based therapies like

If you use your HSA/FSA for any reason, be sure to keep your receipts and any supporting documentation related to your care for IRS purposes. As of 3/23/23, holistic healer reimbursement is not eligible with a limited-purpose flexible spending account (LPFSA), or a dependent care flexible spending account (DCFSA).
